Stand-up Product
I just bought the Flash, and I have used a lot of stoves in my years of camping and cycling. And I can tell you this, the boys at Jetboil did thier homework! I llive in kansas and there isn't a day that goes by without wind. It was blowing around 15 mph and I had no trouble and no blow outs. It boiled the water very fast and then I added my noodles, some onions, green peppers and thick sliced summer sausage . OH MAN, was it good! Cooks in a flash. It is a stand-up product so I am definitely going to get the 1.5L pot and Fry Pan. I don't think I will ever need to look for another cooking system again, thanks guys!

Fast. Compact. Reliable.
We normally car camp and cook over a fire. If bad weather hits, we just hop in the car and go find food elsewhere.
This being our first time backpacking, we purchased the JetBoil Flash and were very impressed. There was a full day of rain and we didn't worry once about how we were going to cook.
It is very compact and you can fit a fuel canister inside the pot.
We haven't had a problem with the lid warping or melting, but we kept a close eye on it (hard not too since the water boils so fast) and didn't let it boil over or for too long. Did not have much wind so we didn't have any trouble with that disabling the stove.
Our friends who backpack regularly brought their trusty stoves, but when they wanted boiled water fast, they often borrowed ours.

The cup locks in place with the stove. I can hold the cup handle while cooking with the cup. To fix the problem with gas canister place it in your sleeping bag, the next morning the canister is not that cold, so you should not have the problem with igniter. I don't cook with the lid on so I don't have an issue with the lid melting. Its good heating up water but not great to cook in.
When first turning on the stove I found you need to crank it up so the built in igniter will ignite the fuel first time. I would bring a match or liter just in case. Also the stabilizer, gas canister, and the igniter stove all fits in the cup. Sweet! :) I love my JETBOIL!!!!!By Da Hawaiian on 7/15/10

My favorite for mid weight backpacking
The convenience of Jetboil has changed how I do my cooking.
Good:
Single unit. Canister fits inside the pot.
Insulated pot.
Bad:
Lid melts and warps easily.
Even a little wind will disable the stove.
Works poorly in cold weather as many gas canister based stoves are.
This is a good mid weight backpacking cooking system for 3 season use.
